L.L. Pelling Company, Inc. Construction Equipment Mechanic in North Liberty, Iowa

LL Pelling is looking for a skilled heavy equipment mechanic to maintain and repair our construction equipment and fleet vehicles. This full-time, year-round position comes with a competitive benefits package including a company-provided pickup truck. Mechanics perform work both inside a shop and outside, directly on construction sites.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on road construction equipment and fleet vehicles.

  • Troubleshoot malfunctions and determine repairs needed.

  • Complete maintenance and repair logs.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience repairing heavy construction equipment and fleet vehicles. Or, the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Valid driver's license with insurable driving record

  • Be at least 18 years of age.

    Required Skills/Abilities

  • Must have regular dependable attendance to be physically present in the shop each day.

  • Ability to drive to job sites and company locations using company pickup.

  • Able to work independently with little to no direction and in a team environment.

  • Great communication skills.

  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
