WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The Precast Construction Carpenter is a key position at Jensen Precast. You will construct, erect, install and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools.

Reporting to our production supervisor, you’ll work on a close-knit team; the ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team is imperative.

A highlight of your day-to-day may include:

  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment, returning all tools after use to proper storage location, and performs routine housekeeping (i.e.: cleaning, organizing). Performing all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Identifying unsafe working conditions and notifies supervisor. Advising supervisor of any issues after daily inspections of frameworks and/or forms are completed.

  • Assembling and fastening materials to make frameworks or forms.

  • Building or repairing cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, and other wooden fixtures used in buildings.

  • Installing structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim, or hardware.

  • Repairing or replacing damaged or defective parts or sections of structures.

  • Studying specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans, to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required. Verifying trueness of structure.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You’re enthusiastic and motivated in a fast-paced environment. You like to work with your hands, and you aren’t afraid to get dirty. You enjoy seeing a task through to completion and take pride in your work. You have a demonstrated history with carpentry, assembly and repair of frameworks and forms. You’re excellent with tape measures, machinery, hand tools and power tools with the ability to read and interpret documents and comprehend math. A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
