Job Description

As a member of the Data Center Operations/Engineer Team, you’ll work with a collaborative team to provide in-depth technical expertise and direction for the Windows Server operating system and Vmware platforms including management of the platform security tools. You’ll have an opportunity to partner with Engineering and BTS Teams to use technology that will provide solutions to support systems for a leading biopharma company.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Operate as the subject matter expert for the Vmware and Windows Operating System platform. Windows Operating Systems include current and older versions such as Windows 2003, 2008 and 2012.

  • Accountable for Crowdstrike and McAfee/Trellix sensor rollout and support globally for all version of Windows servers; on-prem, OT, Cloud… including Windows 2003, 2008, 2012, 2019.

  • Providing in-depth technical expertise and direction for the Windows, Vmware platform and associated security tools globally. The servers may be located in the cloud, CCF sites and data centers.

  • Support the organization’s vision, goals, and strategies and take a leadership position on infrastructure operations and technology (servers and appliances).

  • Partner with various engineering, tools and BTS Teams to streamline and improve current Windows/Vmware processes to support BTS Strategic Operation Initiatives.

  • Enforcing and advocating secure, safe, compliant use of the team’s technology.

  • Collaborating with security vendors on new releases, and support issues. Drives resolution and creates implementation plan for incident tickets.

  • Support of security vulnerabilities for Windows Operating System platforms.

  • Review/approve Windows server catalog requests for configuration changes, resource increases for HCL Implementation.

  • Problem owner for Windows Operating System and Vmware problem issues.

  • Lifecycle management for Vmware and planning grades for the enterprise data center environments including testing new releases.

  • Capacity Management for Windows servers and support of Turbonomics.

Qualifications

Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 5 years’ experience; PhD with 0 years’ experience.

  • 4+ years of Windows Operating System and VMware experience.

  • ITSM or ServiceNow experience.

  • Demonstrates clear communication and strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

Beneficial:

  • Windows PowerShell scripting to automate administration and management.

  • Demonstrate expertise with McAfee and Windows Defender.

  • Implementing and creating project/rollout plans.

  • Ability to manage time and priorities of self and team.
