Job Description

The Manager, Business Human Resources (BHR) will partner with leaders in Regulatory Affairs under AbbVie’s Research & Development Global Therapeutics organization. The incumbent will leverage best-in-class HR practices to continually construct, deliver, and support programs that establish AbbVie as an employer of choice while empowering all employees at all levels of the organization. Strategic imperatives will focus on organizational effectiveness, change management, HR analytics, talent development, and compensation planning.

This is a hybrid position that sits at AbbVie's Lake County, IL location.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the diagnosis, development and delivery of HR strategies, programs and services that influence and drive the needs of the respective business. Utilize skills in data analysis and survey results analysis to help generate insights around talent, culture and engagement.

  • Coach business leaders on HR practices to enhance talent pipeline development and retention; increase organizational effectiveness and foster a culture of engagement, collaboration, and teamwork.

  • Plans and leads organizational design projects that are global in scope, build agility and improve capability to support business growth.

  • Partner with managers/employees to facilitate positive interactions and effective outcomes for matters including performance coaching and communications.

  • Understand and utilize historical and broad organizational data when weighing business HR decisions and actions. Utilize consultative approaches to provide guidance and options based on HR expertise and experience, raising alternatives and risk mitigation strategies.

  • In partnership with HR Centers of Excellence, lead HR programs to support People Strategy & Organizational Goals around organizational effectiveness, change management, enhancing an inclusive culture.

  • Partner with Talent to build an early career talent strategy to deliver an inclusive workforce of the future

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial and Labor Relations or in a highly related field of study required, Master’s degree preferred.

  • At least 8 years of related experience.

  • Experience working in mid-to-large global and matrix organizations in a complex work environment with multi-stakeholder experience.

  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

  • High organization and detail orientation with a successful track record of executing initiatives from start to finish.

  • Ability to influence people without direct authority to achieve solutions.

  • Effectively use data to tell a story or create a narrative for change.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills plus interpersonal and presentation skills to drive results.
