SMBC Senior Quality Test Engineer (Remote) in North Carolina

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $96,000.00 and $143,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. SUMMARY:

Imagine helping to build and design an entire Digital Business Unit for Online Banking. We have a great opportunity for an innovative and effective Senior Quality Test Engineer.

We are looking for an expert-level Senior Test Engineer with a combination of manual testing and test automation experience, the selected Test Engineer will be responsible to design and develop manual test cases, perform manual test execution, report defects. Additionally, the Test Engineer will also facilitate as a development resource on the test automation initiatives, using automated testing tools and technologies.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and execute test cases for functional and non-functional requirements of the retail banking application and integrated systems.

  • Identify, report, and track defects in the application and integrated systems.

  • Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for regression testing using Xray in Jira.

  • Develop and maintain test data for the application and integrated systems.

  • Analyze test results and provide feedback to the development team for improving the application and integrated systems.

  • Perform testing on data extracts, data sources like GCP.

  • Report to the Test Manager and provide detailed test results, which assess the quality of the application/system under test.

  • Develop and maintain test automation frameworks using Selenium, Postman, Cucumber, Java, and BDD methodologies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize test cases for automation.

  • Design and develop automated test scripts that verify functionality, performance, and reliability of web and mobile applications.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good written, oral and presentation skills and ability to communicate complex concepts and ability to thrive in a deadline driven, stressful project environment.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a large-scale software development environment.

  • Experience of working in Agile scrum teams.

  • Expert skills in Java/C# or other high-level programming language.

  • Experience working with IDE (like eclipse), Azure DevOps, GitHub source code repositories and version control.

  • Solid skills in testing API using tools like Rest Assured, Postman and writing automation scripts for API tests.

  • Experience working with UI Web Automation using Selenium, BDD, TestNG.

  • Test Case Design and Development using Functional and Non-functional requirements.

  • Strong Selenium UI and API testing experience.

  • Hands on experience using tools like Azure DevOps, Git, Eclipse, Postman, and other industry specific technologies.

  • Strong knowledge of Behavioral Driven Development (BDD)

Preferred:

  • Core Banking experience.

  • Certifications in any programming languages (C#, Java).

  • Working knowledge of JIRA/Xray.
