Hendrickson USA, L.L.C. Division Quality Manager in North Canton, Ohio

Position Purpose: Manage/Improve key division processes including the quality elements of the AQP/release process, the supplier quality management process, and the Customer Comment/OFI/CAR process. Provide quality engineering technical assistance to BWE Division Operations relative to NPD, Supplier Management, and quality systems. Essential Functions: * Drive formal improvement in the AQP/release process to drive changes through the system more effectively and efficiently- develop and analyze data and product specifications to determine standards and ensure process capability and mistake proofing at launch for reduced quality costs. * Manage and improve the overall BWE Quality Management system and reduce Customer PPM. * Manage and improve the overall Supplier Quality Management System to reduce Incoming and Supplier Through to the Customer PPM to set goals. * Manage the Customer Comment and CAR systems to reduce internal and external failure costs and PPM. * Work with all BWE location to support quality engineering functions. * Provide training and development for key personnel in the knowledge and application of Quality concepts and tools to drive improvement. * Drive improvement in the IATF Quality Management System. * Drive standardization of quality planning and control for the special processes. * Represent the BWE Division in the corporate Quality Excellence Team. * Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of safety measure, participating in safety training sessions, and promptly reporting any safety concerns. * All other duties as required. Education and Training * Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, quality or related field. Master's degree a plus. * ASQ certification as Certified Quality Engineer and Certified Quality Auditor strongly preferred. Minimum Qualifications * Minimum of eight years' experience in a manufacturing QA field. * 3-5 years' experience in supervision and/or management. * Experience in metal fabrication and welding environment. * Demonstrated working knowledge of ISO14001: 2015 or IATF16949: 2016; training and experience as a lead auditor greatly preferred. * Familiarity with JIT manufacturing concepts and "Toyota Production Systems" concepts. * Six Sigma experience preferred. * Strong working knowledge of SPC (statistical process control), DOE (design of experiments), and FMEA (failure mode and effect analysis) tools. * Ability to apply continuous improvement methodology and tools to drive improvement in business performance. Physical Demands * Travel overnight as required. * Frequent sitting and working at computer for extended periods of time. Environmental Conditions * Office setting. * Minimal exposure to R&D lab and manufacturing setting. Behavioral Traits * Strong ability to organize and allocate resources to meet objectives and business metrics. * Good analytical problem-solving skills; strong working knowledge of 8D process. *This is not a comprehensive list of duties.
