 Purpose of Job Position

The primary purpose of this job position is to provide assistance for dietary functions as may be directed by your supervisor. All duties and assignments must be performed according to established policies and procedures and current federal, state and local regulations and guidelines that govern St. Luke.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Personnel Functions

  1. Ensure that activities and delivery of services help to support the mission of St. Luke Lutheran Community.

     

  2. Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with St. Luke's established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisors.

     

  3. Attend and participate in scheduled training and educational classes, in services and orientation programs.

     

  4. Assure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.

     

Dietary Service Functions

  1. Serve meals in dining room as instructed.

     

  2. Miscellaneous cleaning duties, including pantry, microwave, and rehab equipment.

     

  3. Set up dining room, and other assigned duties, as instructed.

     

  4. Pass out water, juices, silverware and all other duties assigned, to designated areas.

     

  5. May assist salad and vending tasks as assigned.

     

  6. Obtain food supplies and utensils for next meal.

     

  7. Clear tables and take dishes, and all other duties assigned, to kitchen.

     

  8. Chart resident intakes.

     

Safety and Infection Control

  1. Practice established infection control methods, safety precautions and universal precautions practices when performing all duties and using equipment and supplies.

     

  2. Report all hazardous conditions or equipment and safety violations to your supervisor immediately.

     

  3. Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor on the shift in which they occur.

Education/Experience

  1. Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education.

     

  2. Previous experience preferred, but not necessary.
