The Department of Human Services, Norristown State Hospital (NSH) is seeking to fill multiple Quality Assurance/Risk Management Specialist positions. Under the supervision of the Quality Assurance/Risk Management Coordinator, you will investigate allegations of patient abuse and patient rights grievances. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Quality Assurance/Risk Management Specialist, you will conduct investigations of patient abuse and patient rights grievances by identifying and obtaining needed information from staff, patients, medical records, video surveillance, and other sources relevant to the investigation. You will compile evidence related to the specific allegations, analyze the collected information, complete a written report of the investigation, and determine the outcome of the investigation. You will then provide a review of the investigation and recommendation of action to the NSH Abuse Committee for review and conclusion. All investigations, gathered information, and documentation will be collated, analyzed, retained, and summarized in a data base for ease in retrieval of all abuse allegations and patient rights grievances.

Key responsibilities of the position include interpreting regulatory and accreditation standards; collecting and analyzing information and data related to hospital practice and patient rights; and supporting the hospital performance improvement plan through ongoing participation with hospital committees, data collection and distribution to and from department leaders, and related inquiries from senior management staff.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Hours of work are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of professional experience as a member of a multiple disciplinary treatment team in a public or private health care facility and a bachelor's degree; or Two years of clinical experience in an human services agency, including one year of administrative, evaluative, or consultative experience in a health care program; and a bachelor's degree with major course work in social work, nursing, health care administration, behavioral sciences or a related field; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
