WR Systems Software Engineer, Principal in Norfolk, Virginia

SUMMARY : WR’s GeoNavigation Technologies Division has an opportunity for a Software Engineer, Principal for a Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) software engineer for the design of GPU intensive Geospatial / Geographical Information Systems (GIS) using advanced programming languages.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

· Improve and develop new and existing software stack.

· Design and implement highly optimized software libraries, tools, and Application Programming Interface (APIs) for real-time computer graphics and general purpose computing.

· Collaborate with hardware engineers to review the spec and verify correctness and efficiency of the implementation.

· Communicate with game studios, critically analyze current real-time rendering, content creation pipelines, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to find areas for new development.

· Analyze runtime performance data collected.

Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

· Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related scientific discipline.

· Fifteen (15)+ years of professional experience.

· Background in Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) programming.

· On a limited basis - able and willing to support division travel to trade shows and customer sites.
