CACI is seeking a Networks Engineer to support the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) in the Hampton Roads area. The candidate would work with a team of professionals to ensure uninterrupted network connectivity to customers and sites by planning and executing the installation of new capabilities, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting network connectivity and infrastructure on enterprise managed networks (including support of multiple network enclaves across several classification levels).

More About the Role:

The candidate will work directly with government and contractor personnel receiving engineering oversight form the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Corona Division to support the establishment and maintenance of various networks across the NCTE enterprise environment, including IP, LAN, WAN, and MPLS among others; execute network protocols, network engineering techniques and architectures in support of Navy training and operational requirements.

Additionally, the candidate will analyze site survey reports to ensure accurate network engineering planning and support the procurement of network device hardware and software and oversee their installation and integration into the NCTE based on the approved network portfolio.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Active Secret security clearance .

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or other related field. Educational requirement may be adjusted in consideration of work experience consisting of highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable skill.

  • Knowledge of network standards, protocols, security, and applications; capabilities and applications of network equipment including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, firewalls, servers, transmission media, and related hardware; network architecture and infrastructure; local area and wide area networking principles and concepts including bandwidth management; network systems design, development, testing, installation, operations, management, and maintenance concepts and methods.

  • Knowledge of Cisco Internetworking capabilities including IP addressing, switching, and routing, and a thorough understanding of the Cisco IOS platform. Ability to effectively use and implement modern network security, tools, and technologies including firewalls, VRFs, 802.1x, and port security.

  • Experience with installing, troubleshooting, and integrating Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF) and Joint Simulation Bus (JBUS)

  • Ability to lead a team in performance of end-to-end lifecycle planning, design, installation, maintenance, and support for distributed networks used by M&S and C4I applications, systems, and subsystems.

Five (5) years of relevant experience, including at least three (3) years of hands-on experience with the following :

  • Set-up, configuration, and support of internal and external networks, to include proficiency with network performance monitoring tools.

  • Identifying and analyzing systems requirements.

  • Developing and maintaining system applications and security.

  • Developing and maintaining network configurations.

  • Troubleshooting network performance issues.

  • Providing user support and guidance.

  • Recommending and implementing upgrades, patches, new applications, and new equipment.

  • Developing and maintaining a disaster recovery plan.

  • Ensuring proper documentation, coordination, and maintenance of multiple systems.

  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) Security Technical Implementation Guidelines.

  • Experience in installing and troubleshooting WAN and LAN network equipment for node installations.

  • Experience in implementing and integrating cross domain solutions at both the Secret and TS levels.

  • CSWF requirements with current baseline and Computing Environment/Operating System (CE/OS) certifications.

  • Possess the necessary training, qualifications, and experience for the IAT-II level at a minimum in accordance with SECNAV M-5239.2 and DoD 8140/8570.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

  • Seven or more (7+) years of relevant work experience as a network engineer within a U.S. Government environment, DoD

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or other related field.

  • Active CCNA certification.

  • Experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or Network Operations Security Center (NOSC) environment including help desk, customer communication, trouble ticketing, and issue resolution.

  • Experience with network security architecture similar to the NETTN including Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center, Cisco Firepower NGFW firewalls, AAA, 802.1x, VPN deployments, STIG implementation and verification, Command Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRI).

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.

$68,400-$143,700
