Job Description

To prepare financial information for input into the University and State accounting systems according to generally accepted accounting principles. Ability to analyze accounting data for adherence to University fund accounting principles and revenue data for State financial system. Prepares reconciliation of refund clearing account and conducts research/prepares corrections of reconciling items. Verifies and distributes daily, monthly and annual financial reports to the University community using Eprint system. Prepares journal entry documents for imaging into the Banner financial system. Processes and analyzes Chart of Accounts changes and is responsible for all aspects of these changes to coding structure. Financial training and website maintenance are completed by Data Control.

Working knowledge of client server systems such as Banner or a similar program. Working knowledge of basic accounting procedures/principles. Demonstrated computer skills with programs such as Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability to upload/transfer files on automated file transfer systems. Demonstrated ability to maintain filing systems. Demonstrated ability to use specialized imaging software system. Demonstrated experience with financial process training. Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments in a timely fashion while multi-tasking. Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines when completing shared office tasks.

Considerable accounting/bookkeeping experience. Considerable experience in preparing financial analyses in a client server environment. Considerable experience dealing with financial data uploads and transfers. Considerable experience with financial training programs.

Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)

Considerable experience with preparing analyses and using automated data transmission systems in a client server environment. Banner experience preferred. Some college experience, in Finance, Computer Science or a similar field. Considerable computer training, especially using Excel and Word. Considerable experience with website maintenance.

Conditions of Employment

Monday – Friday 8-5 preferred; overtime as required by Supervisor
