WR Systems Component Level Repair Technician in Norfolk, Virginia

Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

SUMMARY : WR has an opportunity for a Component Level Repair Technician to troubleshoot (fault isolation) and repair to the component level q ualification/ a cceptance testing of electronic equipment utilizing automated test equipment and rack systems.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

· Responsible for work product from successful introduction into the repair cycle through its quality control and designated as Ready for Issue.

· Manage technical team in support of multiple projects, assigning work, tracking progress, and reporting to Project Manager.

· Plan layout and assembly procedures and resolves technical problems with Electronics Engineer and draws sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units.

· Check functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.

· Populate printed circuit boards with through-hole and Surface Mount Electronic Components (SMT) components to 2M standards.

· Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (assembly drawings, schematic diagrams, interconnect drawings, and wire lists) and operate electronics related equipment such as:

o Multi-meters

o Oscilloscopes

o Regulated Direct Current (DC) power supplies

o Frequency counters

o Spectrum analyzers

· Knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing electronic circuits to the component level.

· Strong knowledge of soldering both through hole and Surface Mount Electronic Components (SMT).

Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

· High School Diploma or GED.

· Associates degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or similar.

· OR completion of formal resident trade school or apprentice program in electronics.

· OR completion of at least two (2) U.S. Navy “C” schools in electronic equipment or systems.

· Ten (10)+ years of progressive experience performing work in support of production, integration, installation, repair, troubleshooting, or maintenance of electronic systems or equipment.

· Preferred:

o Class "A" Military Training in Electronics or four (4) year Apprenticeship Program.

o OR eight (8) years of experience in the electronics field and completion of Technical School Training.

The selected candidate will be required to demonstrate soldering proficiency within the first 30 days of employment.

The s elected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment third-party background check which may include verification of any of the following: Employment history; Education and/or certifications; Criminal history; Driving Records; Other records or information related to the candidate’s suitability for the position.
