Job Description

HII is currently seeking a Business Process Analyst to work out of our Norfolk, VA office. Under general direction of the NITE Deputy Program Manager, the Business Process Analyst is responsible for assisting with group level data reporting for timely delivery to the senior leadership team. The Analyst will collaborate with NITE program team to improve data processes and reporting. Additionally, position requires flexibility as duties and responsibilities may be adjusted to meet business, customer, and contractual requirements.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Analyzes business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processing systems, such as production and inventory control systems, financial tracking systems, marketing and human resources systems. Represents the business unit to define requirements and business cases for the technology developments. Coordinates with business and technology teams, ascertaining system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, and system techniques and controls. Requires knowledge of e-commerce tools, computer system capabilities, business processes, and work flow.

  • Develop new enterprise business intelligence (BI) service offerings, content creation, and value propositions to support and improve business processes.

  • Collaborate with end users to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery.

  • Provide ongoing development and maintenance of operational data using BI best practices.

  • Improve and streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value.

  • Provide ongoing development and maintenance of a BI architecture that enables fact based decision making and ad-hoc analysis and insight generation.

  • Provide interactive real-time dashboards and key performance indicators using Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services, Tableau, Sisense, SAP Crystal Reports, IBM Cognos, Qlik, or newly identified BI tools.

  • Provide end-user support and encourage user adoption. Act as Tier 1 support for end-users of BI tools. Train end-users on basic functionality. Direct users to training material and available resources.

  • Under general direction, responsible for converting business requirements and high-level data collection needs into well-specified analyses, reporting and visualizations.

  • Gathers BI requirements, design solutions and works with developers on their delivery. Utilizes selected platforms including SQL Server, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Power BI, along with SSRS, to successfully deploy business intelligence solutions to satisfy information requirements.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field OR

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.

  • Must be able to acquire a Secret security clearance

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience using common BI tools including Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services, Tableau, Sisense, SAP Crystal Reports, IBM Cognos, Qlik, etc.

  • Experience working in a Microsoft SharePoint environment

  • Must have high-level written and verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements

Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
