STAFF ACCOUNTANT - BANKING INSTITUTION IN NORCROSS

A terrific Banking company could have the perfect full-time Staff Accountant position for you. This company, based in the Norcross, Georgia area, offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded. In this role, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. If you want to participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes, this role might be right for you. To be preferred for this position, you will need to have a complex understanding Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

Key responsibilities:

  • In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

  • Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

  • Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

  • Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

  • Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

  • Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable

  • Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Take part in various department-wide initiatives

  • Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision

    Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Proficient in ERP systems
