FORKLIFT OPERATOR

Converting 3p-11p but that shift is usually working 3p - 3a

Converting WIP is 3p -11p with an opportunity for Overtime 3p - 3a if needed

  • PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Operates fork truck to remove units from banding line and load trucks for shipping units to customer. Keeps tally of what is shipped to customer

  • SAFETY PROCEDURES:

  • Read and understand SAFETY RULES & HOUSEKEEPING GUIDELINES and receive training in proper operating procedures

  • Receive instructions in the following;

  • Fork Truck operation

  • Hearing protection

  • Safety shoes

  • Moving machinery

  • Conveyor safety

  • Lifting and pushing/pulling

  • HOUSEKEEPING:

  • Perform daily clean up of area

  • Dump trash as needed

  • Perform extra clan up during downtime

  • Maintain neat & orderly warehouse

  • REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be trained and licensed

  • B Read & use Factory Order, production schedule, and loading

    manifest to determine loading requirements

C. Ability to:

  • Use loading manifest to know what to load

  • Perform daily inspection of fork truck

  • Operate fork truck in a safe manner

  • Properly load & unload trailers

  • Make out bill of lading

  • Properly store units in warehouse

  • Supply machines with stock &/or materials

  • Properly receive materials

  • Properly palletize or shrink wrap a unit

  • Maintain tally of what has been loaded

  • Identify units

  • Handle units to avoid damage

  • EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

  • Computer input terminal

  • Fork truck

  • Shrink wrap equipment

  • Hand bander

  • QUALITY:

  • Perform the following quality checks

  • Visually inspect units for appearance

  • Visually inspect units for damage

  • If major problem - notify supervisor

  • COMMUNICATION:

  • Verbal

  • Written

  • EDUCATIONAL TRAINING:

  • Ability to read and do basic math
