ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER - Commercial Construction, Growth Oriented Organization

My client is a leading commercial construction company specializing in municipalities, office and educational buildings. They pride themselves on delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget while maintaining a commitment to safety and excellence in construction practices. They are searching for an Assistant Project Manager to join their team for an immediate, direct-hire opportunity. As Assistant Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion. You will work closely with the Project Manager and other team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget, while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating all aspects of construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and subcontractor management.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes.

  • Help monitor project budgets and expenses, track costs, and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring that key milestones are met and deadlines are adhered to.

  • Support the implementation of quality control measures to ensure that workmanship and materials meet project specifications and industry standards.

  • Facilitate clear and effective communication among project team members, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

  • Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery and work with the project team to develop mitigation strategies.

  • Promote a culture of safety on the job site by adhering to safety protocols and ensuring that all work is conducted in compliance with relevant safety regulations.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders, addressing concerns and resolving issues as they arise.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve project management skills and contribute to the company's success.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).

  • Previous experience in commercial construction project management or related field.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes/regulations.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.
