The Commerce + Ecosystems (C+E) Commerce team is working to enable an easier experience for customers and partners to grow, as well as to buy and do business with us by delivering a dependable, safe, and secure commerce infrastructure. The Ecosystems team is committed to driving discovery and awareness of Microsoft within our ecosystem of products and services, as well as reaching technical communities around the globe. 

The Ecosystems Engineering has a new opportunity for Software Engineer to positively impact how people experience Microsoft's technology. You'll be responsible for building Content + Learning experiences through constant innovation, design, and implementing state-of-the-art systems. In this role, you'll help teams meet complex engineering challenges in client software and backend services. You and your team will partner closely with design and program management to optimize for user success.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define functional requirements 

  • Design, code, test and deploy features using CI/CD model.   

  • Design & develop scalable and performant services. 

  • Leverage knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) to design and implement cloud-native solutions.

  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor for outage and initiate relevant actions to mitigate.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of commercial software development. 

  • Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or a related field. 

  • Great coding and design skills (C#, C++ or Java) 

  • Strong communication skills in English. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise with C# 

  • Solid understanding of Engineering Excellence processes and requirements. 

  • Experience with Cloud Platforms like Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Google Cloud. 

  • Experience with security and compliance around privacy, accessibility, disaster recovery, and monitoring.

  • Experience with web front end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript/Typescript)  

  • Good written and verbal communication skills. 

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 2+ years of experience in commercial software development with (C#, C++ or Java).

  • Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or a related field. 

  • Good coding skills.

  • Strong communication skills in English. 

  • Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.

  • Knowledge of best practices for software engineering, testing, and documentation.
