Tioga Downs Casino Resort Maintenance Technician in Nichols, New York

Tioga Downs is looking for a handyman with a self starter attitude. Our Maintenance Technicians play an important role by performing all routine maintenance and general repairs to keep our facility running smoothly for our guests and fellow associates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all general maintenance and repair of minor problems throughout the complex as directed by immediate supervisor.

  • Ensures adherence to all OSHA regulations and codes, NFPA Standards and internal safety policies and procedures.

  • Safely operates company vehicles as required.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment as assigned.

  • Supports other Maintenance Engineers as needed and assigned.

  • Responsible for use and care of tools and equipment.

  • All other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.

  • 1-2 years of general maintenance, home improvement, or related experience.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • General computer skills, preferred.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure and technical manuals.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The associate frequently is required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

    The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock and radiation. The associate occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat or cold.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When around equipment or mechanical rooms, the noise level may increase to loud.

    Maintenance Engineers typically work between 7AM-11PM. Because the Casino is open every day of the year, weekend and holiday availability may be necessary.
