ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Bakes pies, cakes, pastries breads, rolls, biscuits and other baked items as directed by Restaurant Chef and/or Sous Chef.

• Assists Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef in developing recipes for baked products to be served at Restaurant.

• Recommends to Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef bakery equipment and supply needs.

• Orders under supervision of Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef all baking related food products.

• Maintains all baking equipment.

• Manages and rotates as needed inventory of baked goods.

• Responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary area at all times in full accordance with State Health Regulations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • 2 year degree in baking or culinary management is preferred

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a full service baker

    SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    Has a track record of working independently and productively without direct supervision. Proficiency in frosting and decorating cakes is required. Works according to all established local and NY State health codes. Serve Safe certification preferred. Maintains clean and safe workplace and demonstrates a high level of safety at all times. Must be proficient in baking from scratch and handling proof and bake or par-baked products. Has developed a professional level of baking productivity and creativity.
