St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Patient Concierge Navigator to join our team!

1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week. 11:30am-8pm Monday-Friday w/ one weekend/month rotation. Per department needs.

Must be local and willing to commute within the Trinity Health, Mid-Atlantic region as travel will be required between the SMMC, NAC, Community events, etc.

Summary:

The Patient Concierge Navigator (PCN) is the "voice" of Trinity Health MidAtlantic (THMA) in all concierge and access requests related to clients and be the welcoming agent ensuring positive patient interaction and the intermediary for high priority referral sources, determining which pathway each caller/referral enters. This critical juncture of the patient interaction relies on the PCN’s sound judgment resulting in reduced rework and waste in the staffing models at the office and other organizational departments. The PCN will be an active participant in process improvement to reflect the organization's constant desire to improve its care delivery processes and systems.

The PCN is responsible for consistent decision making while performing patient access processes including but not limited to; scheduling, registration, insurance verification and the handling of escalated billing related issues. Interacts with patient and physician office staff to schedule all future services across a wide scope of clinical departments, including the coordination of multiple services in proper sequence for patients, as well as informing patient/doctor's offices of test preparations, insurance requirements, authorizations, and financial responsibility for each service. Collaborates with multiple departments to best utilize resources, while accommodating physician preferences and patient needs. Speaks directly with multiple departments and locations to resolve numerous scheduling matters including STAT appointments, approvals, block times and appropriate selection of studies to schedule. Manages escalated billing inquires, coordinating to the appropriate parties and following up until resolution of matter.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in all aspects of Patient Access

  • Strong knowledge of scheduling and financial clearance

  • Previous customer service and/or concierge-type experience is preferred

  • Associates, Bachelors’ degree, or work equivalent in a related field required

  • Must demonstrate critical thinking and sound judgement under high paced stressful environment. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
