The Cigna Group Community Programs Advisor - Corporate Giving in Newton, Massachusetts

The Community Programs Advisor is a key member of the enterprise community programs team. The Cigna Group has the responsibility and the critical role in delivering on our purpose-driven mission through how our company supports nonprofit organizations in local areas where our business operates, and our employees live. This role reports to the Director, Community Programs/Vice President of The Cigna Group Foundation, and is responsible for leading the enterprise charitable giving support we provide to nonprofit organizations, which reflects the overarching community programs strategy and aligned to our mission to improve the health and vitality of those we serve and the communities where we live and work.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage relationships with internal business segment stakeholders to appropriately and effectively fund local nonprofit organizations that are addressing community needs, including but not limited to social determinants of health.

  • Responsible for the data-driven approach, planning and proactive relationship management with nonprofits in prioritized locations, aligned to our community programs strategic commitment areas.

  • Conduct regular meetings with business segments to review progress, key learnings, and gather ongoing feedback to inform future plans.

  • Create and disseminate regular and robust reporting on all corporate giving sponsorships.

  • Own and manage the corporate giving tracker to reflect investments across local communities and execution stage in the process in real-time.

  • Work closely with community programs operations lead to reconcile budget for sponsorships.

  • Lead ongoing collaboration with internal champions for enterprise funded nonprofit sponsorships to ensure optimal activation of sponsorship benefits at the local level, e.g. employees represented at an event.

  • Act as single point of contact for key matrix partners such as enterprise sponsorships and Evernorth events/sponsorships COE.

  • Work closely with the communications lead for community programs to carry out local giving storytelling and data highlights – internally and externally – that elevate the impact creation in local communities.

  • Manage centralized corporate giving inbox.

  • Support related operations, compliance and administrative duties related to this work, such as policy document management and updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 7+ years experience in a corporate setting managing cause marketing sponsorships, community initiatives, or other related role that demonstrates solid understanding of social impact work and/or community-related initiatives.

  • Demonstrate well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to a wide variety of audiences, internally and externally.

  • Ability to manage multiple requests and flexibility in a fast-paced, complex, ever-changing matrixed work environment.

  • Demonstrate excellent time management, including the ability to work independently and prioritize workload consistently and appropriately.

  • Results and detail oriented with exceptional follow-up skills, including strong proficiency in using excel and other project management tools.

  • Experience working with Airtable a plus, but not required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; including strong proficiency in using PowerPoint and other tools to highlight content, produce reports and present to others.

  • Superior problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • A positive attitude with a proactive approach to accomplishing objectives and inspiring colleagues in achieving shared goals, as well as pitching in to help the larger team accomplish goals and work assignments, when needed.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
