East Bay Community Action Program Teacher Assistant Float, Early Head Start $1,000 Sign-on Bonus in Newport, Rhode Island

Are you looking for a rewarding career? Do you want to make a difference in a childs life? East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking individuals for paid on-the-job training as a Teacher AssistantFloat in our Early Head Start infant and toddler classrooms in Newport.

Due to the critical nature of this position to provide services to the children, EBCAP is offering a two-step sign on bonus totaling $1,000 for external applicants.

This position requires that job candidates are willing to participate in training and college coursework to obtain a Child Development Associate (CDA)credentialwithin one year of hire. EBCAP will provide or recommend professional development training, and a CDA consultant at no cost to the employee. College course tuition reimbursement is provided, up to $2,100 per year. College coursework and some professional development training must be completed after work hours.

This is a full-time (40-hour/week) position. RI Department of Education Certificate of Completion of Teacher Assistant Trainingor

6 college credit hours in Early Childhood Education coursework.

Other candidates will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of child development, a desire to teach and nurture young children, and a desire to learn and develop new skills as an early education teacher.

Under the direction and supervision of a Lead Teacher, the teacher assistant/float will work with a classroom team of professionals to provide a supportive classroom environment, assist in classroom activities and ensure that children are always supervised.
