Rite-Solutions, Inc., is seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Engineer in the Middletown, RI area to support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Code 34 Periscope & Imaging In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA).

Position Description

This position will provide direct support to the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Code 34 Imaging In-Service Engineering Team. Tasking will provide engineering and technical support for the Submarine Periscopes and Imaging In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) activity and all Periscopes and Imaging types to ensure fleet readiness of Submarine Imaging Systems. Duties and tasking will include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Analyze designs of electrical components and systems to be used in Submarine Imaging Systems.

  • Review, design, analyze, and recommend changes required to ensure component or system performance requirements are met.

  • Integrate, test, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic hardware and software associated with Submarine Imaging Systems.

  • Generate design and interface documentation, procedures, schematics, and drawings.

  • Perform, document, and present trade studies, analyses, test results, and status to the team.

  • Develop, implement, and test changes to the RF systems and associated test equipment and instrumentation.

  • Coordinate with the engineering team to support upgrades to existing Submarine Imaging Systems to meet data requirements.

  • Provide recommendations for process improvements to existing Submarine Imaging Systems and operational processes.

    Skills

  • Familiarity with electro-optical systems, i.e. cameras, lasers, and related equipment.

  • Familiarity with RF test equipment and systems, ideally involving antennas, amplifiers, filters, and signal distribution.

  • Familiarity in electro-mechanical systems, i.e. motors, gyros and synchros using control systems.

  • Familiarity with Fiber Optic testing.

  • Strong initiative, willing to ask questions and perform independent and collaborative research.

  • Ability to work with a team and communicate well with others.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline and/or Navy experience.

  • One to two years' experience in Optical, Electrical, or Electronics systems.

  • Candidate must be familiar with and demonstrate a basic knowledge of general-purpose and RF laboratory test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, Volt/Ohm meters, power supplies, and signal generators.

  • Technical Writing skills are required as well as a strong proficiency in Microsoft Word.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

    Additional Skills of Interest (not required):

  • Proficiency in MATLAB

  • Proficiency in Linux-based systems

  • Proficiency in VISIO or similar engineering-oriented documentation applications
