McLaughlin Research Corporation MECHANICAL DESIGN/CHECKER-RS in Newport, Rhode Island

::: {#jobdetailsatsrequisitiondescription} Mechanical Designer/Checker applying in-depth knowledge of mechanical components and assemblies, as well as machine practices. Tasking would include, but not be limited to, the following: providing design and checking as needed on various mechanical detail drawings and assemblies; performing fitment reviews, tolerance stack ups, and reverse engineering; and performing part obsolescence and replacement research.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD for creating/checking detail and assembly drawings.
  • Experience using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDandT) in accordance with ASME Y14.5-2009.
  • Familiarity with Military Specifications.
  • Ability to generate design concepts, modeling and generate assembly and detail drawing packages.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Experience with PDM a plus.
