The Manager, Enterprise Data Quality and Governance works multi-functionally to support supplier data efforts across the enterprise by serving as an expert in master data management and related business processes. This individual will lead Data Governance and Data Quality initiatives in support of the enterprise data strategy. Additionally, the Manager will collaborate with IT to foster the efficient use of technology by applying broad industry knowledge and experience.
The successful candidate will have a solid grasp of data governance standard methodologies and data quality dimensions. You will connect with outside teams within Ferguson to operationalize data governance decisions. This manager will recommend and work with technical counterparts to implement the right approach to automate and optimize existing quality control processes and tools to ensure data completeness, consistency, and reasonableness. This role reports into the Director of Enterprise Supplier Data.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a partner and guide in Enterprise Supplier Data Management (MDM).
Facilitate data quality and governance processes and initiatives to support company needs and growth objectives.
Implement strategic goals and operational plans for the department.
Develop and evolve a data quality strategy plan.
Build and maintain quality control processes, tools and resources for handling data.
Lead and drive multiple data projects.
Develop reporting methods to measure team progress and metrics.
Develop innovative solutions to increase team efficiencies.
Perform in-depth analysis to develop, communicate and implement data quality and completion standards.
Serve as an expert for the implementation and development of master data management processes, practices & tools.
Engage with and give guidance to a multi-layered team of associates responsible for operationalizing data quality & governance.
Assist in defining KPI’s for the Enterprise Data team.
Work multi-functionally to create standard methodologies for governing data.
Provide thought leadership in the development and implementation of new business processes required to handle and utilize data at the enterprise level.
Work understand and communicate the needs of the business, user habits, and to support omni-channel initiatives.
Propose improvements to the data model, both near-term and long-term, carried out through effective leadership.
Collaborate with technical staff to support data quality.
Partner with department leaders to establish the processes to support effective governance of supplier information.
Coordinate resolution of highly complex problems and tasks, promoting new ideas and concepts that support operational goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a business field or equivalent work experience required.
Solid background in data management, data quality, data governance
Previous management or leadership experience preferred.
Experience with MDM/Master Data Management preferred.
Solid understanding of DMBoK principles preferred.
Experience with data management tools preferred.
Experience working with data profiling tools preferred.
Familiarity with Data Governance and Data Stewardship standard methodologies.
Ability to understand and articulate the relationship between data and the enterprise.
This position requires analytical skills, experience with complex business process, problem solving capabilities within a constantly evolving environment.
Expert communication and presentation skills.
Must have high level of interpersonal skills to communicate with customers, vendors and team members.
Ability to develop, coach, mentor others.
