Position Overview

This position is responsible for the preparation of marine costs and documentation in support of the SubCom Bid and Proposal Teams. This function involves working closely with the Senior Project Coordinator, Marine Estimates and Proposals. Incumbent serves as proposal manager and estimator to prepare construction proposals and cost estimates, including marine installation scheduling. Develop, and if necessary, work with cable route engineers to create straight line diagrams in support of proposal work. Project Coordinators, Marine Estimates and Proposals facilitate the transition of marine proposals from the Sales organization through contract forming to implementation in the Marine Services organization.

Responsibilities

  • Review Customer requirements and indicate compliance stance on each requirement.

  • Generate Straight Line Diagrams (SLDs) and provide to the SubCom proposal team.

  • Solicit and evaluate third party quotations to include in the marine costs.

  • Collaborate with the SubCom proposal team (PM, System Engineering, Legal, Commercial, Sales) and maintain regular communication to advise on status and marine position.

  • Utilize computer software to prepare cost estimates that represent the marine solution.

  • Generate marine schedules and submit to PM for inclusion in the Plan of Work.

  • Generate cash flows to support the Finance team’s development of the Billing Milestones.

  • Prepare marine proposal presentations/documentation, to be submitted to the Purchaser, that clearly describes and defines the marine solution.

  • Consistently ensures that business is always conducted with integrity and that behavior aligns with SubCom policies, procedures, and core values.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the marine industry preferred

  • Experience in project coordination preferred

  • Proficient in problem solving, organization, pays attention to detail and ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple assignments simultaneously

  • Experience with Technical Writing, Math and Statistics, Computer Operations, Verbal and Written communication

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, in particular Excel and Word, is required.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Articulates thoughts and ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively

  • International and domestic travel without much notice will be required at times
