Salad Bar Cook 3475 Berlin Tpke, Newington, CT 06111, USAReq #2848 Friday, April 26, 2024 Stew Leonard’s, a family-owned and operated fresh food store founded in 1969, has seven stores in Norwalk, Danbury, and Newington, CT and Farmingdale, East Meadow & Yonkers, NY, and Paramus, NJ. Stew’s earned its nickname, the “Disneyland of Dairy Stores” because of its country-fair atmosphere, with costumed characters and animated entertainment throughout the store that keep children entertained while parents shop. Cook Full Time Hourly ( Closing shift ) – Estimated pay range $18 to $20 depending on qualifications and experience Must be at least 18 years and older Position Description: Cooks prepare the highest quality food items for retail by following established recipes, standards and procedures. Your day-to-day: + Inventory cases and prepare production list + Follow recipes to prepare and reheat food items + Rotate products on display + Adhere to all health, sanitation, and safety regulations + Assist in other duties, as assigned Qualifications: + 18 years of age or older + High school diploma or equivalent with 1 to 3 years of experience + Current Culinary Arts student or graduate, preferred + Knowledge on food preparation + Safely use/operate knives, ovens, scales, wrapping machine, steamers, mixers, and all other equipment required in the day to day operation of the kitchen + Excellent customer service + Good oral communication skills What you bring to the team: + Great work ethic + Passionate about food + Problem solver + Self-motivator + Reliable + Flexible + Honest Working Conditions: + This position requires frequent standing, walking, and occasional pulling, pushing, squatting, reaching, and lifting with a maximum of 40lbs + This position requires occasional exposure to cramped or confined spaces, extreme heat (non-weather related), and noise Satisfy: + Greet customers with a friendly smile and positive attitude, ensuring that each customer feels welcome and appreciated.
