LOCATION/UNIT: Newcomb Campus

TITLE/SALARY GRADE: Food Service Workers 1, SG-5

DURATION: Temporary as needed, part-time position (up to 3 months with possible extension)

SALARY: $15.49 per hour

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Assist in the preparation including simple grilling, baking and cooking a variety of foods and serving of all meals. Maintain kitchen/dining area in compliance with state, county and college health codes. Clean the facility such as washing all dishes, cleaning kitchen area, wiping down tables and serving area following all meals. Maintain sanitation standards such as collection of garbage/recycling materials for appropriate disposition. Checking in and putting up stock.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, simple food preparation and proper food storage. Possess the ability to perform the tasks of the position requiring medium to heavy lifting, understand and follow simple oral and written communication. Must be able to stand, stoop, and bend for long periods of time.

OPERATIONAL NEEDS: Variable hours and days available (e.g. early mornings, days, early evenings and/or weekends), dependent on operational needs. ESF's Newcomb Campus is a year round field station, with the dining center operating 7 days a week between May and October, and as necessary throughout the remainder of the year. Flexible scheduling is available.
