ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Senior Project Manager reports to the Project Delivery Manager and is responsible for efficient and effective delivery and execution of operational, commercial and contractual matters, and delivery in accordance with Project and Client requirements.

The role will have delegated responsibility to the Project Delivery Manager during periods of scheduled and un-scheduled absence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibility of the Senior Project Manager is to ensure all aspects of their allocated projects are delivered safely and in compliance with WSP UK BMS and QMS project lifecycle procedures and client requirements.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing and coordinating project finance and invoices.

  • Liaising with Client and external parties.

  • Ensuring resources allocated to projects are competent and efficiently mobilised.

  • Ensuring supplied services achieve defined requirements.

  • Preparing estimates of time and expenses required to carry out assignments

  • Reviewing and suggesting improvements to contractor engagement.

  • Monitoring and measurement of project performance.

  • Maintaining information contained within the Quality Services resource planner, and risk and change registers.

  • Reviewing output from Quality Services activities, including quality reports.

Additional responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager may include, but are not limited to:

  • Line management of Project Managers (PM’s) and Assistant Project Managers (APM’s).

  • Support the WSP Energy proposals team by providing input to prequalification documents, tender documents, bid clarifications and technical queries.

The Senior Project Manager will be required to undertake responsibilities in the role of Project Manager.

Essential qualification and experience:

  • Recognised qualifications in a relevant discipline (minimum of HNC level, or equivalent).

  • Experience in a project management, quality, engineering role in a manufacturing, testing or project environment.

  • An ability to manage resources effectively and efficiently to deliver projects on time and on budget.

  • The application of governance and commercial control systems such as Agresso / Oracle.

Desirable qualification and experience:

  • Project Management Qualification (PMQ) accredited by the Association of Project Management.

  • Active member, or pursuance of a recognised project management, quality, or engineering institute.
