Job Summary:

The engineering technician will support manufacturing engineering activities on the production floor. They will assist in product failure analyses and corrective actions, engineering builds, process equipment maintenance and improvement, process improvement, and process data collection. Ideal candidate will have experience working in environments for the manufacture of electromechanical products.

Essential Functions*:

  • Troubleshoot production failures to root cause, report and track trends.

  • Address production equipment breakdowns on the production line. Track downtime and causes.

  • Perform engineering tests and process validations per written plans.

  • Work directly with production personnel during engineering builds per detailed written instructions.

  • Generate/update work instructions for manufacturing processes.

  • Prepares written reports of project results as required.

  • Participate and support Lean Kaizen events

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Education / Training / Skills / Experience:

  • A.A.S. in an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology required or equivalent work experience in electrical engineering or technician field.

  • 2+ years’ experience with electronic test and troubleshooting in manufacturing environments.

  • Working knowledge of and experience with printed circuit board testing and troubleshooting with standard electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, electronic loads, etc.).

  • Experience in manufacturing activities, including product failure analysis, gauge R&R studies, process & equipment validations/qualifications.

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and Excel.

  • General knowledge of ISO requirements and working knowledge of those requirements as they pertain to document / record control, work environment including ESD / temperature / humidity / contamination, identification / traceability / preservation of product, property management, supplier maintenance, monitoring / measuring / inspection / validation of product, control of nonconforming product, and corrective and preventive action in support of product design and manufacture strongly preferred.

  • Strong written and communication skills.

  • High level of initiative and strong work ethic.

  • Lean Six Sigma training desirable

    Physical Requirements:

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to grasp, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Travel required less than 10% of the time.
