Broadridge is hiring! Were seeking a Vice President of Software Engineering to join the growing IT Product Development team! The successful candidate will be a technology leader with strong executive presence and a proven track record of building and scaling high performing technology products to drive growth. The leader will bring a depth of experience developing software solutions towards business objectives. They will take a low-ego, roll up your sleeves approach, combining technology expertise, business acumen, influencing skills, and results-orientation to build automated, scalable, and resilient systems.

The successful candidate will display strong attributes as a technology strategist, execution driver, and business operation leader. The Vice President of Software Engineering operates in a critical executive role, providing leadership for several IT application development areas within the Investor Communications IT organization. They will play an important part in shaping and influencing multiple IT teams and will be a key player in designing and executing strategies for large scale system integrations. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing and standardizing development practices and processes for their team to align with the overall IT strategy and direction.

We are made up of high performing teams that meet in person to learn and collaborate as needed. This role is considered hybrid, which means youll be assigned to a Broadridge officeandgiven the flexibility to work remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with technology executives, senior business leaders, project stakeholders, as well as functional areas and is responsible for leading a staff of full-time and contract professionals in multiple domestic and/or global locations

  • Provides strategic direction on technological capabilities, limitations, and emerging innovations in collaboration with business product design and operations that enhance the client experience

  • Develops and executes on API strategy in support of business objectives and technology modernization to adopt modular architecture

  • Develops the roadmap for Unified Portal to support all lines of businesses and personas with consideration of external trends and competitive advances

  • Understands managements of large data sets, data architecture and patterns

  • Directs and delivers application development projects in multi-cloud environment through the application of comprehensive SLDC processes

  • Acts as an agent of change by deploying transformational IT capabilities to rationalize and modernize legacy applications

  • Manages strategic relationships with key IT product and services providers to help ensure systems performance and service-level requirements are met or exceeded.

  • Aligns Software Engineering resource requirements that secure an appropriate balance between tactical and strategic demands, while implementing continuous improvement programs within enterprise guidelines.

  • Understands the needs of the client, manages the client relationship, and delivers solutions with strong customer and business value

  • Offers strategic guidance on application solutions, software development tools, technology and application development methodologies, architectures, integration strategies, governance, quality assurance and business support processes

  • Balances areas' supply and demand by monitoring System Enhancement Requests, Work Requests, Problem Reports, resource allocations and ongoing progress towards stated goals

  • Effectively partner with the Architecture, Site Reliability, Quality Assurance, and other IT leaders to ensure communication and collaboration across a diverse business and IT community; form relationships that enable shared solutions across the enterprise

  • Coach and motivate multiple technology directors and managers through the project optimization process to yield their optimum performance

    Qualifications:

  • 15+ years in a leadership role including experience leading a multi layered / matrixed enterprise technology team, setting priorities and plans to build software applications that meet business line goals and objectives

  • Significant experience partnering with Executive business leaders to drive projects to completion

  • 20+ years within a programming and application system environment

  • 20+ years of relevant IT experience within financial, investment, and /or fin-tech institutions, with leadership experience in a software development organization

  • Exceptional dynamic leadership capability including demonstrated ability to be change agent and influence the direction of the organization while maintaining a culture where associates are recognized as important assets to the organization

  • Ability to link the established vision and strategy with the overall business objectives while communicating rationale in a compelling, concise manner

  • Experience setting the technology roadmap/direction with a consistent track record delivering large scale IT solutions within a matrixed environment

  • Deep and comprehensive understanding of the applications functional and non-functional requirements;

  • Experience with managing the development in multi-cloud environment, development of APIs, and modular architecture patterns

  • A proven progression of successful delivery of software applications as an individual, team leader, and development manager

  • Heavy exposure to migrating legacy applications onto a new cloud structure; significant familiarity with multi-cloud environment

  • Financial acumen and experience managing a P&L is highly desired

  • Extraordinary communication, written, and presentation skills; including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms (effective communicator with the ability to present to groups of all sizes and levels of management)

  • Ability to successfully work under tight and constantly changing project deadlines

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required (Master's Degree desirable)

Compensation Range:The salary range for this position is between 175,000 - $250,000.Broadridge considers various factors when evaluating a candidate's final salary including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
