Sr. Bench Hand Baker (Newark, NJ): Prepare dough for a wide variety of breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, and pastries, ensuring that each type of dough is made to the highest standard of quality and consistency. Roll out dough to achieve the desired thickness, while taking care to sprinkle flour on the work surface to prevent sticking. Cut and portion dough into pieces, demonstrating precision in shaping and forming the dough by hand to ensure a consistent and appealing appearance for the final products. Measure and blend ingredients, using advanced knowledge of baking techniques to maintain the highest standards of taste and texture. Prepare, mix, and cook icing with finesse, applying artistic flair to enhance the visual appeal of the finished baked goods. Direct and coordinate activities of bakery personnel. Requirements: 24 months of experience as a baker in a bakery, or related experience. Experience baking Italian and French style bread, cakes and cookies. Experience inspecting the quality of raw materials to ensure standards and specifications are met. Experience mixing and cooking icing and place fillings.
