Position Summary:

The Center for Solar-Terrestrial Research (CSTR) of the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) invites applications for a part-time research assistant position. The successful candidate will develop a web-based data archive and processing toolkit for ground-based magnetometer data. The appointment may be extended depending on the candidate’s performance.

Essential Functions:

The successful candidate will work primarily with Dr. Hyomin Kim, Assistant Professor of NJIT and be expected to perform the duties of a research assistant, including development of a web server to archive and display scientific data using JAVA and Python.

Prerequisite Qualifications:

  • Capable of developing a website with a data processing functionality.

  • Programming skill (Python).

  • Basic understanding of math, physics, and data processing using programming languages

  • Good verbal/written communication skills.

-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position
