Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking a Program Coordinator II. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of the Rutgers Business School - Newark Undergraduate Office, the Program Coordinator II will be responsible for all aspects of transfer credit evaluations for Rutgers Business School-Newark.This position will be responsible for and not limited to the following.
  • Review and evaluate transcripts to determine admissibility and course equivalencies for awarding academic credit
  • Prepare transfer credit evaluations for all 2-year, 4-year and international students
  • Assist with recruitment and outreach initiatives/programs
  • Provide administrative support regarding New Jersey State-Wide Transfer Agreement, NJ Transfer and RU Transfer
  • Also draft and revise all correspondence including updating the Rutgers Business School website as it pertains to incoming transfer students.
  • Evening and occasional weekend hours
  • Some travel required to participate in recruitment and outreach events. Travel among regional campuses is required.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education
  • and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, organization, coordination, facilitation, bookkeeping and/or report writing. Also requires good communication skills and computer literacy.

  • Must be able to multitask and handle a diverse range of responsibilities
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Requires excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills as well as strong computer knowledge/skill specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
  • Strong problem-solving and prioritizing skills needed daily

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree preferred with previous experience at an institution of higher education, preferably working with transcript evaluations.
Equipment Utilized
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Access
  • Expected to learn and use Rutgers' Student Record Date Base (SRDB), RU Transfer, NJ Transfer, School-to-School data base, ImageNow, and Degree Navigator as well as other in-house applications.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
