Mazak Corporation Field Service Technician in Newark, New Jersey

Description

We are currently searching for a candidate who will install equipment, train customers, execute warranty repairs and provide after warranty service on CNC Lathes and Machining Centers. Field Service Technicians are assigned Regional responsibilities and operate directly from their residences. This position reports to the Northeast Technology Center in Hartford, CT. Duties involve overnight travel from home to various customer facilities, located primarily in the Newark, NY area.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but not limited to the following:

* Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees

* Install machines and accessories at customer sites. Installation includes all necessary assembly, leveling, aligning, adjusting, calibrating and wiring of machines and accessories.

* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and software problems on machines and accessories at customer sites.

* Test operation of machines and accessories after completing installation or repair

* Train customers on functions of the machines

* Learn new machines features and accessories as they become available

* Complete reports documenting installation, assessment of reported problem, repairs completed, parts installed

* Travel is required. Assignments will require overnight or multiple night stay.

* Utilize various test equipment for trouble shooting purpose, indicators, test bars, clamp force, gages, etc....

Education/Certification:

* 2-year technical training in electronics, mechanical or machine tool assembly

* High School Diploma

Skills:

* 3-7 years of experience in Field Service

* Read/understand engineering drawings

* Ability to work on own or in group while completing necessary tasks

* Ability to understand PLC

* HYD/Pneumatic circuits

* General computer skills

* Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a repetitive daily basis.

* Heavier lifting in excess of 50lbs on periodic basis

* Ability to problem solve depending on situation.

* Sound writing and reporting skills.

* Strong people skills.
