Position Summary:

The Director of Systems and Analytics is a key member of the university admissions team, reporting to the Executive Director of University Admissions. The Director of Systems and Analytics provides vision and leadership for the team responsible for the development, innovation, maintenance, and support of the admissions CRM (Slate) and related software., The incumbent will oversee admissions data from inquiry to enrollment; implementing and maintaining the processes and systems needed to support the applicant experience and data integrity with a focus on quality assurance. The incumbent is responsible for the development of robust reports and data analytics and ensures compliance for data related to student admission policies by developing and implementing policies to guide data entry. The Director contributes to and oversees the support of short and long-term enrollment goals for the Office of University Admissions using a data-driven admissions strategy and utilizing data to make recommendations. The incumbent must have demonstrative ability to lead diverse teams and implement process improvements.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee and direct the development, design, management, and maintenance of the admissions CRM (Slate) and other systems recruitment/admissions systems.

  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for recruitment and performance management of the team.

  • Administering established policies and procedures but may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, data management and process improvements.

  • Manage, deliver various reports related to admissions, student recruitment/enrollments. Provide reports as requested by the leadership team.

  • Responsible for creating user system documentation or training programs.

  • Serves as a liaison to IT and other campus offices, outside vendors on technology and data needs as they related to university admissions systems.

Additional Functions:

  • Provide technical and user support for University Admissions systems during University-wide events.

  • Ability to stay current with changes in information technology. Assesses organizational needs and makes recommendations for improvements or new systems.

  • Perform other appropriate duties as designated and assigned by the Executive Director.

Prerequisite Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with a CRM system (Technolutions Slate, preferred).

  • 5 years of progressive experience in university admissions.

  • Experience with a Student Information System (i.e. Banner, Workday, PeopleSoft).

  • Experience in planning, organizing, and prioritizing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent oral, written, and communication skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with the use of programming languages (e.g. SQL, R), data warehouses and relational databases.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical ability.

  • Supervisory experience.

  • Ability to adapt to changing expectations and responsibilities and to work for extended hours if necessary, including some weekends.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard the confidentiality of records.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and communicate with diverse teams.

  • At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
