Job Summary

Our professionals in our Corporate Functions cover a diverse range of areas from finance and risk to human resources and marketing. Our corporate teams are an essential part of our company, ensuring that we're setting our businesses, clients, customers, and employees up for success.

Our Compliance teams work globally across all lines of business to advise internal stakeholders on the impact of regulatory requirements and how to balance these with the firm's needs. Their diverse mandate means they also provide input on new business strategies, product lines, policies, training, operational processes, and risk mitigation and control.

Global Financial Crimes Compliance ("GFCC") is part of our Global Compliance organization and is responsible for developing and implementing the requirements and standards for the Firm's Enterprise-Wide Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions programs. GFCC is comprised of the core functions (KYC, Sanctions, Risk Assessment, Investigations and Transaction Monitoring), business-aligned teams, and regional teams.

This position is part of the Global Sanctions Compliance ("GSC") Oversight and Governance Team and aligns to GFCC. GSC is responsible for the oversight of the Firm's compliance with the sanction's requirements. The primary objective of the GSC Oversight and Governance Team is to support GFCC's responsibilities to protect the organization and to fulfill the Bank's OFAC and other sanctions related regulatory requirements.

The Global Sanctions Compliance Associate position implements and executes the JPMorgan Chase's Firmwide Sanctions program. You will need to exercise sound judgment and to observe the highest degree of confidentiality in the handling of information received.

Additionally, you will need to will possess a thorough knowledge of banking and OFAC/sanctions processes and governance and controls as well as be decisive, responsible, a self-starter demonstrating knowledge of sanctions and financial crimes risk.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations into potential sanctions concerns, including searches of transactions, and reviews of account holders looking for designated high-risk subjects and sanctioned transactions.

  • Coordinate with internal partners to maintain information to the bank filtering systems; maintain documentation of all identification, research, and ongoing monitoring of entities.

  • Drive communication and results to accomplish various deliverables and objectives.

  • Anticipate challenges and implement solutions in order to manage the expectations.

  • Perform complex sanctions related investigations on international company ownership and detailed research using multiple search tools.

  • Demonstrate independent judgment in drafting sanctions risk exposure analysis of international entities and verbal presentation of analysis.

  • Help identify areas of opportunities and efficiencies for the Restricted List team function.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

  • Minimum 4 years of banking/financial services.

  • 2 years of Compliance, Operations, or Risk management experience

  • Knowledge of OFAC Sanctions programs, preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.

  • Confident decision-making skills with the ability to articulate supporting rationale.

  • Possess strong computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
