As a Risk Management & Compliance - Financial Planning & Analysis - Senior Associate in the Risk Management and Compliance team, you will be at the center of keeping JPMorgan Chase strong and resilient. In partnership with senior leaders from across the Risk Management & Compliance organization, the Risk Management & Compliance Planning & Analysis team drives financial discipline through budgeting, forecasting & location planning, and develops automation and data visualization tools to assist in analysis and telling the story behind the financials.

The Planning & Analysis Associate will support the Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk ("CCOR") sector Planning & Analysis leads with the overall responsibilities of financial planning & analysis, oversight and coordination of location strategy and real estate, and organization optimization initiatives. The Conduct and Operational Risk Planning & Analysis Associate provides support to Planning & Analysis leads with reporting and analysis on key performance metrics, including direct/indirect expenses, headcount, allocations to front office lines of business, and budgeting / forecasting. The role requires someone who has good analytical and organizational skills, can consolidate and produce different views of data, and is solutions oriented. This role will include coverage of specific Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk functions as well as supporting overall central Conduct and Operational Risk Planning & Analysis Associate team.

Job responsibilities

  • Conduct Financial Analysis and Reporting - Analyze performance and forecasts for direct and indirect expenses for Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk; includes expense and headcount variance explanations, trend analysis, and monthly forecast updates

  • Conduct Annual Financial Planning - Assist with annual plan processes, including run rate analysis, expense savings opportunities and allocation methodology

  • Complete Month-End Close - Complete monthly financial close, including management reporting adjustments, forecast/outlook, and General Ledger review and investigations

  • Conduct Allocations - Work with Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk Planning & Analysis leads to identify, measure, and define allocation methodologies for services provided to lines of business; analyze allocation reports for material variances to plan

  • Ensure that the cost center hierarchy for Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk complies with legal entity requirements and is consistent with reporting expectations; track hierarchy changes and headcount movements

  • Produce Automation/Process Improvements and Ad-hoc analysis- Identify ongoing process improvements and automation opportunities, as well as perform ad hoc analysis to provide insightful information with appropriate metrics

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 3 plus years of related work experience - prior Planning & Analysis experience

  • Advanced analytical skills; Can demonstrate the ability to think strategically, initiate change, and work towards continuous improvement

  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills - role will require regular interaction with Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk management & staff and Corporate Finance Planning & Analysis Teams

  • Self-motivated individual that demonstrates initiative and the ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and experience with Hyperion/Essbase and SAP

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with Intelligent Solutions (Alteryx; Tableau; Qlik sense) a plus but not required
