Plant Maintenance Specialist - Newark, DE

Maintenance Specialists are responsible for routine and non-routine maintenance activities on the sites' manufacturing and process equipment. Daily tasks include performing maintenance in the areas of rotating equipment, pneumatics, and mechanical systems. Technicians coordinate troubleshooting efforts and strive to implement improvements with operations and engineers as needed to assure the day to day site operation.

As a Maintenance Specialist, you will:

Job Requirements

The following is required:

  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend documents in English.

  • A valid US driver’s license.

  • Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE to include wearing safety equipment, such as earplugs. cloves. safety glasses. hardhats. hairnets. and steel-toed shoes.

  • The ability to lift and/or move 45 pounds.

  • While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to stand, walk (up and down stairs) twist, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb for extended periods of time.

  • This role is in Newark, DE, and may require less than 5% of travel.

The Following is Preferred:

  • A minimum of a High school diploma or GED equivalent is required; a 2-year technical/vocational degree in a related field is strongly preferred.

  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional work (general mechanic, pipefitter, chemical manufacturing, refinery, etc. is preferred.

  • Millwright and or precision mechanic experience is preferred.

While we are interested in all qualified candidates with the potential to work in the United States, we are not able to sponsor visas. Additionally, to qualify for this position, you must be proficient in English, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.

The Pharma Solutions business will be taking on its next chapter of growth as a trusted partner for the pharmaceutical industry with the announcement to sell Pharma Solutions to Roquette. This move will position Pharma Solutions to expand its industry leadership through continued investment in innovation to meet the evolving needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers and developers worldwide. The sale is presently expected to close in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. The Pharma Solutions business unit will remain a part of IFF until close and, at such time, it will transition to Roquette.
