Perform general construction site tasks under the direction of a foreman, including site preparation, loading and unloading materials, and operating small equipment. Assist skilled tradesmen in their duties, providing them with support to ensure timely completion of projects. Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, understanding the importance of wearing appropriate personal protective equipment at all times. Maintain a clean and safe worksite, regularly clearing away debris and securing any hazards to prevent accidents. Follow instructions from supervisors to perform tasks in the correct sequence and using the right methods. Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials using tools such as shovels, rakes, and trowels. Measure and cut materials to specific dimensions as required, ensuring accuracy for installation or assembly. Install and remove temporary structures like scaffolding, shoring, and braces, following proper techniques and safety protocols. Provide traffic control by setting up signs, cones, and barricades to ensure safe passage through construction zones. Assist in the installation of pipes, conduits, and wires under the guidance of experienced laborers or skilled workers. Load and unload trucks, and handle materials within the construction site, using hoists, dollies, and wheelbarrows. Dig trenches, backfill holes, or compact earth to prepare for construction using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes. Coordinate with other team members to meet construction project objectives, deadlines, and safety standards.
