Position Summary:

The Children's Aid Society runs a 53-camp facility in Chappaqua, NY. The Summer Day Camp serves 250 campers and has 100 staff. The program operates daily, Monday through Friday, Closed on July 4th and July 5th.

Dates: 6/28/24 to 8/09/24, no weekends, closed on July 4th, hours 9am to 4:00pm.

Essential Duties:

  • Manages the food service in the summer day camp: pre-packaged breakfast, hot lunch, and snack each day for 250 campers and 100 staff.

  • The Kitchen Supervisor manages a staff of 7(1 Cook and 6 Kitchen Aides).

  • Maintain sanitary procedure in the kitchen: proper clothing, hair nets (hats) and footwear.

  • Follow procedure that maintain safe preparation and storage of foods.

  • Follow the menu and recipes that are planned for each day.

  • Wash dishes, pots and pans as needed. Implement daily routine of kitchen cleaning: stove, refrigerator, floors, counters, loading dock, etc.

  • Receive food deliveries, storing, and rotating stock. Manage inventory to ensure orders for food and supplies are appropriate.

  • Work with Camp Business Manager to make orders for food delivery.

  • Plan meal service for the three meal times each day and make adjustments for changes in the schedule.

  • Completing paperwork to count meals and produce daily production records.

  • Participate in both overnights providing food service-Dinner and Breakfast.

  • Keep daily record of refrigerator and freezer temperatures.

  • Follow all camp policies and procedures.

  • Fulfill additional job duties related to the job of Kitchen Supervisor and important to the success of the camp as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a Food Handler’s Certificate Recognized by Westchester County Health Department.

  • 5 year of food service experience.
