1.To oversee the development, execution, and communication of seasonal merchandise strategies across Mens and Womens that meet financial plans; 2.To be accountable to the total Giorgio Armani division’s sales results, inclusive of gross sales, net sales, gross margin and sell through results;3.To control all facets of the buy process for the U.S, Canada, and Brazil;4.Develop brand appropriate assortments across Mens and Womens in partnership with GA Spa and management, which incorporates product trends, historical data and field input. Identify and recommend big ideas/ key items positioning to ensure they meet financial targets. Formulate and continually evaluate pricing strategies;5.Partner with planning and management to complete top down and bottoms up planning for each dept (Mens/Womens) both seasonally in business plans and monthly in OTB. Provide clear costing targets/strategies for sourcing; 6.Present assortment to fellow executives for approval by developing presentation structure and content, and ensuring appropriate analysis is completed. Identify business opportunities and risks in-season through analyzing sales performance and gathering marketplace/trend information; 7.Change future Department strategies in-season where needed and provide appropriate and timely direction to the cross- functional team in order to react quickly to customer and business trends;8.Analyze OTB and take action as necessary; recommending changes to future on order, pricing or markdown strategies;9.Maintain expert knowledge of industry through store visits and competitive analysis;10.Communicate with GA Spa and management through meetings and store visits regarding best/worst sellers;11.Build and maintain effective business plans and relationships for all 3rd party resources;12.Monitor and provide development and training of assistant buyer and cross-functional team; 13.Work with Visual team to create strong floor sets and accurate documents in order to drive sales;14.Create and implement effective product knowledge through the division inclusive of product knowledge tools and seminarsPosition requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Public Administration or Business Administration plus 2 years’ experience with a luxury fashion retailer in the Job Offered or a director-level merchandising role for a business unit generating at least $40 million in sales revenues and includes experience representing a luxury brand; developing assortments across multiple product categories; sourcing products from Italian mills and factories; training buyers and cross-functional teams; developing allocation and pricing strategies; and analyzing market research related to trends, pricing, historical data and sales in forecasting and developing business plans Domestic travel to stores approximately 5 trips per month; trip to Italy, Canada and Brazil twice per year for each country
