About the Role:

Reporting to the EVP of Corporate Communications, the Vice President of Executive Communications will be responsible for crafting compelling narratives and delivering strategic messaging for the company’s top executives. The key role will hone the art of aligning executive messaging with organizational goals, ensuring that leaders’ voices resonate with key stakeholders.

This role will play a crucial role in developing and executing communication strategies that enhance the visibility and impact of executive leadership, including key messages from the CEO of Warner Bros Discovery (including, for example, managing internal and external communications, crafting speeches, writing thought leadership articles, and coordinating high-profile events.) The VP’s main goal will be to translate complex ideas into clear, persuasive, and individualized content that drives engagement and builds trust.

Core responsibilities:

  • Oversees all written materials generated by the office of Corporate Communications, including executive speeches (incl. for the CEO as well as other high-profile executives), taped presentations for various internal and external uses, press releases, talking points, briefing documents, executive biographies, press kits, internal and external communications, Q&As, as well as provides editorial leadership and guidance to various publicity departments within Warner Bros. Discovery

  • Develop and execute effective communications projects for members of the C-Suite, including, for example, major business announcements and written communications, messaging and talking points for internal events, as well as internal and external responses to press and crisis communications.

  • With a keen eye towards brand management and executive reputation, plays a key role in developing and administering key communications plans and ongoing cadences for the company.

  • Oversees and has key input on managing the design, writing, editing and distribution of various internal communications, and serves as a key project manager for company information on external and internal resources.

  • Serves as a key liaison within WBD’s communications landscape, meticulously navigating each of the Company’s brands and businesses to provide information for earnings and annual meeting press releases, Q&As, fact books/annual/regional reports, quarterly investors’ newsletter and company websites as well as various other needs.

About You:

  • The successful candidate should have extensive experience in a similar role in public relations, journalism or marketing, where they have partnered closely with executives and honed their writing and collaboration skills

  • This person is known for their collaborative approach, working closely with executives to understand their vision and objectives, and then translating those insights into communication plans that reflect the organization’s brand and values.

  • Bringing a unique blend of creativity and strategic thinking to the role, the successful candidate will be passionate about storytelling and believe in the power of effective communication to inspire action and drive business success.

  • Adept at navigating the nuances of corporate messaging, ensuring consistency across all platforms while adapting the tone and style to fit diverse audiences

  • Must be an excellent writer, able to adjust tone and style as needed

  • Must have the ability to communicate and provide strategic guidance effectively and tactfully for senior most executives in the company

  • Discretion and professionalism when dealing with confidential information

  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving

  • Must have project management as well as journalistic instincts

  • Must be able to discern subtleties and sensitivities within different pieces of content

  • Must be able to handle pressure and deadlines, as well as work under time constraints

  • BA/BS degree in journalism or English or creative writing or communications/public relations or related field required

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $167,020.00 - $310,180.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
