Paramount VP, Business Development & Slate Planning, Games in New York, New York

Overview:

The Games & Emerging Media team at Paramount Global is seeking a highly qualified executive to lead business development and slate planning across our organization. This is an exciting and fast-growing division of the company responsible for the global games business and emerging media initiatives across Paramounts brands including Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, MTV Entertainment, Star Trek, CBS and many others.

Reporting directly to the SVP, Games & Emerging Media, the Vice President of Business Development & Slate is a consumer and partner-focused business leader responsible for securing new commercial deals and expanding our portfolio of games across all models including licensing, co-funding, our games studio and expansion on to new platforms. This role requires a critical thinker who will lead the development and implementation of a data-driven greenlight and planning process across our entire roadmap. Join the team!

Responsibilities:

  • Drive revenue and OI growth across Paramounts global games portfolio including licensing, studio, co-funding, self-publishing and in -game advertising, meeting or exceeding budget goals for each year.

  • Source new game partners, including prospecting clients, building out the opportunity, selling it in, deal negotiation, and working across internal teams to implement the agreement.

  • Build and lead the development of a slate management process, using data and analytics to inform future roadmap plans and set clear goals across our portfolio of games.

  • Partner with marketing and production teams to manage and optimize in game monetization.

  • Work closely with the research and analytics team to garner relevant insights; create thought leadership opportunities using insights and data/surveys to educate external partners and potential clients.

  • Manage team workflow with business and legal affairs counterparts to ensure timely execution of contracts and minimize deal cycles.

  • Day to day responsibility for games budget and forecasting in partnership with central finance and accounting teams.

  • Work collaboratively with Marketing, Game Development, Production, Research, Business & legal affairs and Finance teams to support business goals.

  • Manage a team of direct reports, including goal setting, mentorship, career guidance and workload management.

  • Manage multiple projects and drive each forward, ensuring clear communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams and external partners.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of business development experience in the games industry, with a proven track record of success in challenging markets across all categories.

  • High-level expertise in negotiation and deal construction including the legal aspects of negotiations.

  • Superior communication skills with finely tuned ability to work within cross-functional teams.

  • Strong ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

  • Strategic thinker who can also execute with attention to detail.

  • Experience managing multiple direct reports and ability to lead and guide a team.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $210,000.00 - 235,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.This position is bonus eligible.
