Position Summary

The Variable Hours Officer (VHO) will support the national programmatic impact of the Center for Veteran Transition and Integration (Center). The VHO is expected to be a leader in the veteran transition space and will inform the Center as it plays a central role in the national conversation by building a platform that transforms the tools available to service members as they make the transition to higher education, new careers and civilian life.

Responsibilities

  • Key duties include:

  • support ground-breaking research that informs the Center's programs and substantively impacts the national conversation; and

  • provide advice and counsel that increases the Center's programmatic impact nationally.

    Conduct Research: Support, inform, and when appropriate, lead ground-breaking research that informs the Center's programs and substantively impacts the national conversation.

    • Support relationships with research-based partners and institutions.

    • Support the development, execution and publication/findings of all research conducted.

    • Ensure that all research conducted integrates data from current Center programming if appropriate and informs/directs future Center programming.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate

  • Five or more years of research experience

  • Ten or more years of military related experience or experience working with veteran services organizations.

  • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation

  • Knowledge of organizations, programs and fundraising strategies unique to the veteran's community

  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills required.
