Citibank, N.A. seeks an Underwriter for its New York, New York location.

Duties: Apply credit risk management standards in providing analysis, greenlight, underwriting, first-line-of-defense credit approval, and subsequent credit monitoring. Apply understanding of capital markets products and complex financing and product structures including market-related products, leverage lending loan products, Asset Based Loan (ABL) products and trade finance products. Responsible for underwriting activities, including credit and financial analysis. Adopt leading practices in credit analysis, underwriting, and monitoring, including end-to-end underwriting process from early origination discussions to development of credit approval memos and senior approval forums. Ensure Credit Approval Memo packages are complete and accurate. Perform enterprise valuation analysis. Review financial data, target-market and risk acceptance criteria, projection modeling, stress testing, and other in-depth analysis performed by junior resources. Analysis of forecasting models, debt rating models, and risk ratings. Use Factset and CapitalIQ. Execute remedial management action plans. Cover large complex relationships in North America. Facilitate relationships with clients in Banking and Risk, and with regulators, Internal Audit, Fundamental Credit Risk and other control functions. Provide strategic insights and sensitivity to macro and regulatory issues, and their impact on Risk families, including operational and franchise risks. Discuss and address issues associated with the allocation of risk assets and risk capital with banking and product organizations. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.

Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field and 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Relationship Banker, Credit Risk Analyst, Credit Risk Manager, Credit Risk Officer, Credit Portfolio Analyst, Remedial Management Analyst or related position involving global credit risk and underwriting. 6 years of experience must include: Credit and financial analysis; Credit documentation; Target-market and risk acceptance criteria; Market-related products; Trade finance products; Debt rating models and risk ratings; and Forecasting models analysis. At least 4 years must include: Leverage lending loan products; Capital markets products and complex financing and product structures; Enterprise valuation analysis; Factset, CapitalIQ; and Working in a matrix structure.
