Job Title: Technical Project Manager Location: Onsite at Tekscape Midtown Office Term: Full-Time Reports to: Head of Project Management and CTO

Salary Range: $90-135k (Annual)

Job Summary:

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) utilizes their technical and project management expertise and acumen to manage the full lifecycle of IT projects: From initiation to execution through project handover to the managed services team for ongoing support. The TPM is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the resources and tasks necessary to complete projects on time, within budget and adhering to Tekscape and Client’s technical and security standards and protocols, resulting in complete client satisfaction. The TPM is a strong leader with the ability to motivate project team members to the highest levels of performance and accountability. T echnical expertise required for this position includes recent hands-on experience with IT infrastructure and systems, networks, cloud, and security.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning : Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and timelines. Develop comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, task sequencing, and risk management strategies.

Project Execution : Coordinate and lead project teams, ensuring adherence to project plans and milestones. Monitor and track project progress, resolve issues, and mitigate risks. Keep stakeholders informed about project status through regular reports and meetings.

Project Communications : Maintain a high level of professionalism, urgency, speed, and tact in all internal and external verbal and written communications, at all times.

Resource Management and Demand Planning : Work with engineering leadership to forecast, identify and allocate resources required for project execution. Manage resource utilization and ensure team members have the necessary skills and tools to execute their tasks effectively.

Budget Management : Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring projects are delivered within the allocated budget. Identify and escalate any budget deviations or cost overruns in a timely manner.

Program Management : Collaborate with all internal stakeholders, consistently informing the team of any deviations in project scheduling or budget to ensure consistent messaging about project status. Inform team about any potential cross-sell/ upsell opportunities that may arise during project discovery and execution.

Technical Oversight: Collaborate with the Client Technology Manager to ensure projects are progressing smoothly from a technical standpoint. Ensure adherence to IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and documentation policies throughout the project lifecycle.

Quality Assurance : Maintain quality standards for project deliverables. Conduct regular quality checks and ensure compliance with industry best practices and client requirements.

Customer Relationship Management : Foster positive relationships with clients, acting as the main point of contact for project-related communication. Understand client sentiment, needs and expectations, address concerns promptly, and manage client feedback throughout the project lifecycle.

Change Management: Assess and manage project scope changes, evaluate their impact on timeline, resources, and budget, and communicate changes to stakeholders. Implement change management strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure project objectives are met.

Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, status reports, change requests, and client communication. Generate comprehensive project reports to provide visibility to management and clients.

Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance project management methodologies. Stay updated with Tekscape’s product and services offerings, industry trends, emerging technologies, and IT advancements to provide innovative solutions to clients.

Quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

  • Closing MRR projects on time.

  • Closing MRR projects on budget.

  • Meeting gross profit margin target on assigned programs across all projects.

     

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field.

  • 5+ years as a Technical Project Manager, preferably in the IT industry, managing complex technology projects involving systems, networks, cloud, and security.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, networks, cloud services, and security protocols.

  • Certification

  • ITIL certification highly desirable Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable. [JJ1] 

  • CISSP certification highly desirable

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work under pressure, managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to resolving issues and mitigating risks.

  • Proficiency in project management tools and software for planning, scheduling, and reporting. Moovila (software tool) a plus.

  • A customer-centric mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
