Compensation:

Salary Range: $83,309 - $123,620 (Grade E - 588 Points)

Compression Rate $122,500 (UTLO)

Responsibilities:

Superintendent, Field Operations is responsible for conducting audits with the Joint OSS/TWU Safety Inspection Teams which evaluate compliance to NYC Transit Safety requirements. The Candidate must demonstrate a high level of proficiency and comprehension in the intricate rules and regulations governing track safety and NYCT Flagging Rules, specifically Rule 3.80 (Flagging Arrangements). Candidates will be responsible to prepare reports of the inspections to identify areas of non-compliance and providing recommendations for those issues not addressed by current policy/procedure. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years satisfactory experience in rapid transit safety, operations or maintenance and at least two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity, OR

    Satisfactory equivalent of educational/experience.

  • A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of NYC Transit Department of Subways equipment, technical standards, safety practices, operations and organization is required as well as a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of accident/incident investigation technique, policies and procedures.

    Must possess a valid Driver's license.

    Desired Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Skill in dealing with sensitive safety issues and TWU representatives.

  • Knowledge of NYC Transit Safety Policies, MOW Safety Rules and OSHA regulations and accident investigation techniques.

  • Experience with Flagging and currently NYCT Flagging Certified

  • Computer skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.
