Launch Math & Science Centers Summer 2024 STEM Camp Counselor & Instructor (Day Camp, K+1st, UWS) in New York, New York

Launch Math + Science Centers provide K through 7th grade kids with inspiring STEM-based summer camps (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). We are hiring Summer 2024 STEM Camp Counselors & Instructors, with a strong need for K+1st grade team members. Our Instructors are passionate and creative people who believe in the Launch mission: To inspire children to love and learn math and science.

The Launch summer program consists of weeklong camps covering various STEM themes ranging from coding and engineering, to chemistry and robotics. Camps are divided into three grade groups: K-1st, 2nd to 4th grades, and 5th to 7th grades. Many of Launch's camps also have an outdoor component where kids participate in traditional camp activities, as well as math and science based outdoor projects.

Camp topics may include:

  • Coding With Scratch Jr.

  • Human Biology

  • Marine Biology

  • Archaeology

  • And More!

Requirements

  • A passion and skill for building hands-on projects with K and 1st grade kids

  • Knowledgeable in various sciences

  • Personable, friendly, reliable, committed, focused and communicative

  • Previous experience working with children ages 5-12

  • Current Child CPR/First Aid Certifications are a plus

  • Available to work Mon through Fri from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM during late June, July, and August (you may specify weekly availability on application)

  • Most important, the belief that every student can learn and love math and science

Benefits

  • All curriculum and class materials are provided (you do not need to create lesson plans)

  • Compensation: Approximately $600-$650 per week ($16/hr for 37.5 to 40 hrs per week)

  • Potential additional compensation: Discretionary bonus for superior work and reliable attendance
