DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
This team is responsible for the Salesforce Impact Fund, a $150M fund that invests in mission-driven enterprise technology companies in sustainability, education and workforce development, diversity and inclusion solutions, and enabling technology for the social sector. The fund seeks investments with market returns, demonstrable social or environmental impact, and opportunities to grow the Salesforce ecosystem through strategic technology integrations.
The team is tasked with all aspects of deal flow and portfolio management, including: (i) identifying and evaluating investment opportunities; (ii) managing portfolio companies post-investment; (iii) collecting and managing impact metrics. In this position, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to advance an emerging strategy for corporate impact investing.

The fund seeks investments with market returns, demonstrable social or environmental impact, and opportunities to grow the Salesforce ecosystem through strategic technology integrations.
As a Salesforce Ventures Impact Fund Intern for the summer of 2021, you will apply your passion for social and environmental change and expand your professional skill sets as you work with the team to highlight and assess opportunities and markets for investment.
YOUR IMPACT (RESPONSIBILITIES):
Monitor, research, and develop market intelligence and investment themes on emerging trends and disruptive companies in the Impact Fund’s four focus areas and enterprise SaaS
Assist team in diligence for active deals, including: review of financial data, research into market trends, research into potential for impact
Assist in developing impact metrics reporting processes for existing portfolio based on research into current trends and best practices
Develop relationships across Corporate Relations and find areas for collaboration that enhance both of our work.
Assist in planning programs and events to promote the Salesforce Ventures Impact Fund and convene portfolio companies, investors, and others in the ecosystem
Build presentations for internal senior management as well as external audiences
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Current Sophomore pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a preferred concentration in Business, Finance, Economics, Information Systems or related field.
Passionate about investing for social and environmental impact
Ability to organize, prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work well under time pressure and juggle multiple priorities
Excellent verbal and written communications and analytical skills
Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse internal business groups
Ability to research business issues and learn new concepts quickly
Positive and professional attitude, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Must be able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner
High level of energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to success
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
